A Wine Pairing Night with Kaesler & Red Spice Road

Red Spice Road is teaming up with Kaesler Wine for 4 flavour-packed weeks. From the 24th of August until the 28th of September Red Spice Road will be showcasing the Kaesler range of distinct Barossa Wines.

The Wines

2022 Old Vine Semillon
Grapes grown from a single vineyard and hand-harvested. A wet 2022 harvest provides a crisp, zesty citrus bouquet and palate, with a delicate acid structure to compliment the finish.

2020 The Avignon
A blend of Grenache and Mourvedre (aka Mataro in Australia) varieties, matured for 15 months, creating a ruby red appearance, overflowing with berry fruit with hints of savoury spice on the finish. A Barossa interpretation of a Chateauneuf du Pape staple.

2021 Reach for the Sky Shiraz.
This is a particularly remarkable vintage due to favourable dry and cool conditions in the Barossa Valley in 2021. The wine showcases a wide array of vibrant aromas, a dark purple appearance, and a soft palate of black and red fruits. Full-bodied delicious and inviting.

2021 The Bogan.
Much like a favourite flannelette shirt, the Kaesler Bogan is full of warmth and personality. Creator Reid Bosward was determined to prove that being described as a ‘country bogan’ was no barrier to producing a fine Barossa Shiraz. Bright and deep crimson with a bouquet of dark plum and blueberry, this full-bodied wine is dense and rich with flavours of dark fruit.

The Pairing Experience

 The Pairing Experience
The wine event will culminate on the 28th of September with an intimate evening with Kaesler Chief Winemaker Tim Dolan.  The evening will feature 4 wines and a very special addition, The Fave 2022, winner of the gold medal of this year’s Brisbane Wine Show.
Paired with the tantalising Asian-inspired dishes of John McLeay, you do not have to be a connoisseur or gourmand to enjoy this flavourful evening. Join us as we intertwine the aromas of the Barossa Valley with the essence of Southeast Asia.

The Menu for the Evening will be

Salmon tartare, chives, radish, yuzu, soy, corn gel, potato cake

Spanner crab, miso, wasabi roe, nori cracker

Yellowfin tuna, Lao salsa, Shan tofu, sawtooth

Salt-roasted pork belly, master stock, green chilli, daikon, king oyster mushroom
