One of Melbourne's Best
"Red Spice Road is without doubt one of the best restaurants in Melbourne. The staff are always friendly and attentive, food and drink menus are promptly provided and the atmosphere is vibrant.
The food however is just outstanding. Prior to becoming a vegetarian the Pork Belly was my favourite dish, the beef just falls apart and the flavours always go well. However I have just retruned and was really impressed by the vegetarian menu - we had 3 servings of the fritters! So many incredible flavours and a great wine list." - NatalieMc555 (TripAdvisor)
"If you can only order one dish at John McLeay’s Red Spice Road, make sure it’s the sticky pork belly with apple slaw and chilli caramel." - Eatability
"Found in the heart of the CBD, the award-winning Red Spice Road is famed along the Melbourne restaurant trail for its pan-Asian flavours and strikingly exotic looks." - Australian Good Food Guide
"The Red Spice Road pièce de résistance, the famous pork belly continues to please. Each morsel bursts of flavour. The pork belly skin is delightfully crispy and the meat is tender and succulent. That pork, the tangy black vinegar marinade, paired with the accompanying luscious caramel sauce with a dash of heat from chillies is a match made in heaven." - Gastrology food blog
"Sitting at the top end of the McKillop Street, Red Spice Road impressed me as soon as I walked in the door. A very large restaurant, it's broken up into two dining areas, both of which feature long shared tables and plenty of natural light." - Let Me Feed You: Melbourne
"I was completely blown away by the chilli salt lamb ribs – they were that damn good. The crunchy outer crust gave way to pieces of succulent lamb that easily fell off the bone. They were also accompanied by a sweet pineapple tamarind dipping sauce; a marriage that was oh so addictive."- The Food Society
"Fine Dining and Good Value are as far from each other on the ‘occurrings of the universe’ spectrum as you can get, really. At least it was until Red Spice Road came along." - Sweet & Sour Fork blog
Red Spice Road is the proud winner of several awards
